HQTBD is inhabiting a new gallery behind Debbie's Lil' Restaurant open on Tuesday nights, in collaboration with sister group TABLE | TABLE and their new Tuesday night pop-up restaurant.
An exhibition with works by Wilder Alison, Dylan Languell, Alexia Welch ran from August 25th to September 8th, 2015.
Wilder Alison is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. In recent years, Alison has exhibited work with 247365, Rachel Uffner, Culture Room, Primetime, and Garden Party Arts, among others. This spring, Alison participated in The Lighthouse Works residency on Fisher's Island. Alison completed her MFA in Painting at Bard College this summer. Works include: The Goods (Les Biennes), FF, "black" & gold, FF, blue & tan.
Since 2013 house paint has been a material focus for Dylan Languell. In his Fold series, visual weight of the paint advertises tactile quality that is leading the texture from smooth leather illusions. The Angled series reflects his constructive play with incorporating hydrocal cement to paint design. Works included are from the following series: Paint folds, Angled, and Cathode.
Alexia Welch (b. 1991) lives in Hudson, NY where she makes videos, texts, projection-based performances, & other digital works. Her most recent collaborative endeavors include a publication project entitled 3015: Hover Over and a group dialogue and critique experiment called Drip Dry. She received her B.A. in Film & Electronic Arts from Bard College in 2013. Works include: Motion Reminds Me I Am a Woman (2015) and reaching grabbing (2015).
